Diligence Differential — math tutoring

Directed diligence turns “bad at math” into honors-level work.

Math tutoring across Tampa Bay — high school math, SAT / ACT / ASVAB prep, and short, intensive exam crams. Seven years of experience, with a specialty in the students other tutors find hardest to reach.

Why “Diligence Differential”

I don’t buy the “some kids are just math people” story. After seven years, I have too many counterexamples. Most of what a student believes about being good or bad at math is something an authority figure once told them — not a fact about their mind. Diligence is the variable you actually control, and it’s the one that moves the outcome. My job is to direct it. I’ve watched students who arrived sure they were “bad at math” become honors students inside a year.

What focused effort looks like

A local high-school sophomore — new to the U.S., learning English — faced three math finals in three weeks: Algebra I, Honors Geometry, and Algebra II.

5 / 5Algebra I final (3 to pass)
D → BHonors Geometry
C → BAlgebra II
23 hrsover ~3 weeks

We worked roughly an hour a day, six or seven days a week. He didn’t just pass — he walked out able to speak math in English, and certain he could do it again. That’s the difference diligence makes.

Packaged intensives

For a deadline you can see coming, a short, high-effort project often beats open-ended weekly sessions. A few I run:

SAT Math in 10 Days

Ten focused sessions built around the exact question types costing you points. For rising juniors and seniors.

Algebra II → Pre-Calc Summer Bridge

Two weeks to shore up Algebra II and walk into Pre-Calculus already ahead, instead of catching up in the fall.

ASVAB Math Bootcamp

Two weeks on the Arithmetic Reasoning and Mathematics Knowledge sections that drive your AFQT score.

Dual-enrollment support

College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and Statistics, plus PERT / ALEKS placement-test prep, for high-schoolers taking college courses.

Studying with a friend or two? Small-group sessions are available at a per-student discount. We’ll scope the right plan on a quick call.

In a parent’s words

“I highly recommend Professor Christian. He is not only an excellent math teacher, but he also helps young people build confidence in themselves and their abilities. Thanks to his support and dedication, my son did exceptionally well on his final exams.”

How it works

About me

I’m Christian Evans. I’ve tutored mathematics for about seven years and have been the go-to instructor for the toughest cases at the center where I teach. I hold degrees in IT and Operations / Supply Chain Management with a Lean / Six Sigma focus from Marquette University, and I’m a self-taught mathematician and MIT-certified machine-learning engineer — which means I learned a lot of advanced math the same diligent way I teach it. I’m based in Tarpon Springs and serve the wider Tampa Bay area.
